Peoples Bank was recently notified that the nationwide retailer Home Depot experienced a data breach which may have compromised your debit card account between April 11 and September 7, 2014. Home Depot is in no way associated with Peoples Bank, and they have posted a notice on their website at HomeDepot.com to explain what happened in more detail.
If you used your card to shop at Home Depot during those weeks, please pay very close attention to your checking account. You can be proactive and watch for any irregularities in your account by enrolling in Online Banking and signing up to receive account alerts via email or text message. Should you see any unauthorized charges please contact us immediately. It is imperative that you review your statement and look for any irregularities for the next 12 - 24 months and notify us within 60 days of receiving your statement should there be a problem.
