A reminder to monitor your accounts
From time to time, Peoples Bank receives notice from customers of the occurrence of fraud involving debit card transactions. When fraud occurs, the debit card is being compromised at the merchant level when the card is swiped, and not at the systems level of Peoples Bank. A compromise can occur if the card is being used for either a debit or credit transaction.
The security of our customers’ information and accounts is our top priority. As a safeguard, and until further notice, the Bank has blocked various types of debit card transactions. If you have a problem using your debit card, please contact your local Banking Center. In addition, please advise your Banking Center if you have upcoming travel plans so that we can help you avoid any disruption of services while you are away. For your own protection, we recommend you monitor your account activity daily with our free Online Banking service. If you are not a user, enroll now. If you are already an Online Banking user, you can also check your account with our free Mobile Banking app. Should you identify any irregularities, notify your local Banking Center immediately.
